Whistler Win! Yipee!!
02/07/09 Like they say, better late than never. I’d be a big fat liar if I said this season had gone according to plan or that I’d met the expectations I had of myself at the beginning of the World Cup campaign. However, I am pleased with my result in Whistler and hope to draw upon that performance in these next two races in Park City, Utah and also at World Champs in Lake Placid, NY for inspiration. The Whistler race was epic as the crowd was 2,500 strong and cheering for the Canadians all the way. The community is pumped for the Games and taking every chance they can get to come out to the new venues and cheer on the Canucks with great enthusiasm. Standing on top of the podium singing O’Canada was awesome and something that one never tires of. I had some friends from back home at the race, which made it even better. Well the stomachs growling so I know it’s time for lunch and then off to the track for the first of six training runs on the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic track. We race on Wed and Thursday this week and can be viewed online at www.cbcsports.ca and www.fibt.com.
